What we're looking for
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Business Development professional (m/f/d) to play a key role in driving the company’s commercial success. This position will involve building a scalable sales organization, establishing valuable industry partnerships, and contributing to the growth of a transformative technology poised to make a significant impact in the biotech landscape.

Key responsibilites

Develop, implement, and execute comprehensive business development plans that encompass marketing, communication, and sales initiatives to drive growth and align with company objectives.

Lead all commercial efforts, including building and managing relationships with customers, identifying new opportunities, and expanding the company’s presence within the cell and gene therapy community.

Act as the primary driver of sales efforts, including prospecting, lead generation, and closing deals, while ensuring a customer-centric approach that aligns with market needs and company objectives.

Build and lead a high-performing sales team that drives company growth and customer satisfaction.

Develop, lead and oversee marketing and marcom activities. This includes defining strategies for digital presence, social media strategies, content creation, and public relations to support business goals.

With the leadership team, establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across business development, marketing, and sales functions to track progress, adjust strategies, and improve lead generation and conversion rates.

Represent the company at international industry events, conferences, and trade shows (Europe and North America, possibly Asia), building and nurturing relationships that foster business growth.
Qualifications

Degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or related field.

Several years of professional experience and proven track record of sales and developing and executing successful commercial strategies in the biotech, life science or pharma industry, ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment.

Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and mentoring high-performing sales teams.

A hands-on mindset with persistence facing rejections or setbacks.

Customer centricity: Strong ability to understand customer needs and present solutions effectively.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with scientists, healthcare professionals, and senior executives.

Ideally a robust professional network within the biopharmaceutical industry, with a history of leveraging relationships for business development and strategic advantage.

In-depth knowledge of the biotech market, including key players, regulatory environment, and technological trends. Expertise in the field of cell and gene therapy manufacturing is highly beneficial.

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market data and sales analytics to inform strategic decisions and improve lead generation processes.

Proficiency in CRM software and sales analysis tools.

Excellent English skills, German is beneficial
